FDS BECOME FIRST UK COACHING COMPANY TO LAUNCH
PODCAST
Northamptonshire-based Football Development Schools (FDS) are
delighted to announce the launch of their brand new monthly podcast.
FDS have embraced the latest internet trend to become the first
soccer school in the United Kingdom to offer a podcast through
iTunes and are very excited about the benefits this will offer to
their players.
The podcast will compliment their website and offers the coaches an
opportunity to share their thoughts with players and parents about
what is going on behind the scenes at FDS.
“The podcast will also allow us to give specific and detailed
feedback on matches and tours,” commented partner Kristian Heames.
“Through the podcast we can give some detail on what we require from
the boys on the pitch and why it is important and they will be able
to listen to this at their leisure, not just during our time with
them.
“It also allows us to share in the reasons why we do things such as
residentials, tours and fixtures against specific opposition.”

Podcasting is a new way to download internet-based
multimedia files automatically to a computer using syndication
feeds. This audio and video content can then be listened and viewed
respectively on a portable MP3 player or through the computer using
specific software.
The podcast was produced in association with Uptonaway Media and can
be subscribed to through iTunes or downloaded directly from the FDS
website,
www.developmentschools.co.uk.
“Podcasting, along with blogging, is a great way to extend the
message you communicate through your company website,” explained
Chris Rivett of Uptonaway Media. “In this day and age, just having a
website isn’t enough. As well as the regular updates a website
provides for your client base, you need to maximize the opportunity
to speak to your customers and syndicated content allows you to do
exactly that, at the convenience of your target audience.
“We have been able to work with Football Development Schools to
enhance the relationship they have with their customers - the
players - through their website for the latest news, their blog for
individual player feedback and now the podcast for a monthly
overview of the company’s activities to ensure that the players have
access to all they need to know about FDS.”
